While many people visit Korcula and enjoy their holidays on the island, many of them are unaware of the treasure that is so close to them. The vineyards that cover the slopes of the Pelješac peninsula produce some of Croatia's most famous red wines, including the much-loved Dingač.
The Pelješac peninsula is home to more than 3.000 hectares of vineyards and olive trees. Wine production dates back to well into Greek times when it was first introduced by the Greeks! Now you'll find this beautiful country many miles off the coast with a centuries-long history – from Roman advances in viticulture all over Eastern Europe, including on the coast of Croatia in Dalmatia.
